Queen Elizabeth Square
Located on the site of the redundant George Moore building, Queen Elizabeth Square (formerly known as Jubilee Plaza/George Moore Square) sits adjacent to the University’s Life Sciences building (LSB). Occupying a pivotal location in the mosaic of open space and university buildings forming the Highfield Campus, the scheme forms an attractive route between buildings and an inviting place to gather, sit and relax. The proposals employ restrained material choices to complement the contemporary materials of the LSB and the more historic palette of Library Square. Visual connectivity between the new developments is strengthened with a locally cohesive plant palette.
This project features on Landezine as an example of best international contemporary landscape architecture.
