Prominently located in the townscape, the proposed 7, 21 and 26 storey buildings on the site of a former council building include flexible retail/office and a community centre at ground level and 239 residential flats on the upper levels. A public square, two roof terraces and an enhanced existing public realm feature within the scheme.
Delivering engaging, usable space, the clean, simple public square sympathetically marries the curtilage of the building with the existing footway and maintains clear access for residents, visitors and cyclists. A community centre breakout space defined by planters and informal seating encourages social interaction and recreational use. Planters accommodating a pronounced level change across the square integrate seating to the public footway, promoting engagement with the street.
Roof terraces provide garden, private play and amenity space for residents with varying aspects and degrees of enclosure/exposure and striking views across Wembley and Greater London.
